Job Summary: The STEM teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing instructional programs that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to foster critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and collaborative skills among students. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and deliver dynamic STEM-based lessons that align with national education standards and school curriculum. Incorporate project-based learning and hands-on activities to enhance student engagement and understanding in STEM Learning areas. Maintain and manage STEM-related equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensure safe practices in the use of laboratory equipment and technology. Inspire students to pursue STEM-related careers through exposure to role models, field trips, and extracurricular activities. Mentor students in STEM competitions, clubs, and projects Prepare and maintain lesson plans, lesson notes, timetables, schemes of work, teaching aids, and maintain academic standards in the school to ensure that the syllabus is covered in time for evaluation; Teach at least 22 lessons in a week in the subjects of specialization and impart knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward the learner; Evaluate learners in subjects of specialization and prepare them for national and other examinations; Introduce new ideas and programs to ensure improvement in teaching and learning in the subjects of specialization; Ensure consistency and improvement in curriculum delivery through teamwork and collaborative planning; serve as a role model and maintain learner discipline to create a conducive environment for learning; provide guidance and counselling services to learners to instil norms and values for harmonious co-existence; ensures the cleanliness of the school compound and the tidiness of learners; engage learners in curricular and co-curricular activities so as to identify, nurture, and develop talents; Marking a class registers and take appropriate action on absentees. Professional Attributes and Qualifications Education qualification of KCSE and above with a maximum grade of C- for males and D+ for females. Any other relevant certificate will be an added advantage. Experience in any form of primary education will be an added advantage. MUST communicate and write in both English and Kiswahili High level of integrity, commitment, and professional responsibility Knowledge of ICT will be an added advantage.
